Hi,
I'm training for the Honolulu Marathon with the AIDS Foundation who follow Jeff Galloway's run/walk method - so NO stretching! ;( I've had IT band issues with my right knee when I used to bike long distance. But recently, my right hip tightens up after about 8 miles & I haven't been able to run more than 14 miles. I try to use the foam roller & ice it but it's hard to do this for long periods on my own. I've been to a good sports massage therapist (Kevin McCullough) who's worked on many track & field athletes, and just tried Samuel Ackerman who uses some Chinese Medicine techniques - accupressure, etc. But I think I also need Physical Therapy - does anyone have any recommendations for a good Physical Therapist in SF?
THANKS!
Craig

Re: Help: tightness in my ITband/hip area
Tue, October 31, 2006 - 12:27 AMI'm going to SF Sport & Spine. Lowen took one look at my feet & she said I'm pronating my right foot. I bought the "Superfeet" insert & was able to run 18 miles on Saturday w/out pain - except the edge was pressing into my arch, so I switched to the "Sole" brand insert which is wider.
